Lefkas is connected to the mainland via a short floating swing bridge, and it's one of the easiest (and cheapest) islands to travel to in Greece. There are several travel options with flights to suit all budgets. PLEASE NOTE: Horizon Watersports do not book or arrange any flights. Fly to Preveza
The closest airport to our Nidri base is located in Preveza approximately 75 mins away. Flights from the UK operate on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flight time is approximately 3hrs 20mins. Several airlines fly this royte including EasyJet. On arrival at Preveza, we can organise a taxi to transfer you to your accommodation.
Fly to Corfu
Although further away than Preveza, flights to Corfu are more frequent and often cheaper. EasyJet and Ryanair fly to Corfu from several regional airports in England. Travel from Corfu airport to Nidri is easy, involving a 5min taxi ride to the ferry port, a ferry crossing of around 1 hr to the mainland port of Igoumenitsa, then a taxi ride of approximately 90 mins to Lefkas. You may choose to book a one-way car hire from Igoumenitsa to Nidri. The regularity and price of flights to Corfu has meant that Corfu flights are fast becoming the most popular choice for Lefkas visitors.
Fly to Kefalonia
Kefalonia airport has flights throughout the week, including EasyJet and Ryanair. The travel from Kefalonia to Lefkas involves a 1hr taxi ride and a 1hr ferry from Kefalonia to Vassiliki. Vassiliki is a small fishing village on the southern tip of Lefkas, approximately 20mins from Nidri.
Fly to Athens
Travelling via Athens gives you access to numerous scheduled flights from all major airlines. From Athens, you can take a coach to Lefkada, or hire a car and add a few days to your holiday exploring Greece. The road journey from Athens to Lefkas takes approximately 5 hours.
Bus from Athens
There are several coaches per day to/from Athens, and the journey takes approximately 5 hours. The coach station is a short distance from the airport, reached by a €5 bus or a €35 taxi ride.
If you are travelling across Europe and heading to Lefkas, you will find several ferry crossing options from Italy to Greece. The closest major ferry port to Lefkas island is Igoumenitsa, about a 90 min drive from Nidri. Ferry times and availability can be found at
