Who would carry out this daunting 101 mile task we hear you ask! The Horizon Watersports Beach team of course.
Everyone within the Horizon Watersports team is dedicated to finding new ideas to help raise money for our selected charities. Over a two week period, beginning on the 14th of July, the beach team led by the event organiser, Callum, will stand up paddleboard the total distance that it would take to get from our beach to Corfu. All 101 miles of it!
The event itself is being carried out in order to raise money for the charity ‘Sail4Cancer'. The charity do wonderful work by providing water based respite days and holidays for families affected by cancer. They aim to show the positives sport can bring both in terms of assisting with recovery and maintaining good health. Definitely well worth our support!
The idea to carry out our SUP challenge was the work of Callum, one of our lovely watersports instructors. Callum decided to run the event as he was interested in organising a charity event of an active nature. Last year we did a 24hr SUP and gratefully received many donations, so this year the target isn't on time but on distance.....can we go the distance?! With Callum at the helm we certainly can! Callum says that he "is really excited to start the challenge and has full faith that the team will achieve their goal".
This is a huge task set by the team and they really would appreciate all of your support. Donations can be given via the following link or by dropping by our beach desk: http://www.sail4cancer.org/horizon-watersports-2015
