What an amazing week we have had, after three months of hard work and dedication from a wonderful team of staff we finally made it to opening day. AND it was AMAZING!
We decided to open on May 4th. Our aim on opening day was to give the staff a trial run of how the beach works and also to enable the locals to enjoy the centre before everyone gets busy with tourists. We hoped to get between 10 - 20 people on the water. We ended up with over 30! It was just wonderful to have so much support from the people of Nidri. Since then we have been busy visiting hotels and encouraging tourists to head our way. The catamaran joyrides seem to be the most popular activity at the moment as they require no watersports experience; you simply sit back and relax whilst an instructor takes you sailing.
We also started our Apprentice Training programme this week. We have 4 apprentices in resort who are receiving 5 weeks of dedicated training to become RYA Watersports Instructors. They receive this training at zero cost to themselves, in fact we pay them a staff salary whilst they are here! Once the 5 weeks of training is over they will join the rest of the team and spend their summer having an amazing time working as Horizon Watersports Instructors. If you would like to know more about how to apply for our Apprentice Training or you would like to help us raise funds to support it, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
It has been an action packed week and we just can't wait for the summer to get into full swing!
Well done and thank you to an amazing team of staff and supporters.
